  1. You want to put some padding down on the racks then set your board on them.  Using an adjustable strap (as stated above) you can get a pretty secure connection.  They also sell rack atachments specifically for boards that you can purchase.


  2. All the above and remember to put the board upside down so the nose doesn't act like an aeroplane wing.

  3. Adjustable webbing straps that have a buckle to tighten and release.

  4. Simple: Non-stretch rope. 2 pieces. A small fixed loop on one end. Enclose board with rope, bow and stern, put non -loop end through small loop, tighten and secure with half hitches. Check for security after a few miles.

    Elegant: 2 Straps with buckles!

    Never...Rubber bungees! Wind can lift board as bungee stretches!

    Pad roof bars to prevent board damage.

  5. Electric welding. It is cheap, quick and secure.

    Just wrap a chain around the board and bond it to the board using DIY  GRP and then weld the chain to your roof bars. For extra safety weld the chain to the actual roof of you car.
