I was thinking it might be better to dilute the bleach in a bucket and soak the whites in there as I fear the bleach may remain in the washer and stain the colors on the next wash.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

  1. Best not to use bleach if you can avoid it, some fabrics will yellow & it also clings to some stains. Pre-wash of hot water with soap for mud & grass & cold water with soap for blood is best. I use a nail brush to scrub in the soap. Then when you put the items in the washer, wash at the hottest recommended for the fabrics & mix half a scoop of vanish or similar with your powder. Also check if the tray of your soap dispenser in the washer is clean, it moulds up very easily- they are usually removed by pressing down at the back when fully open.

  2. Bleach will not stay in the washer.  Use a directed.
