  1. It depends on the kind of tea.  Some need boiling water some will be ruined by boiling water.

  2. i use 2 bags of luzianne and one bag of whatever mint tea i can find plus about a cup and a half of sugar. I like spearmint its like the mint tea at al's or the purple onion (greek restaurants in birmingham alabama).  this makes a gallon. it doesnt matter really how much water you boil probably about 2 cups. but boil your water and mix your sugar in then steep the tea for about 10 minutes. squeeze bags when you take them out. this will make a hot sweet tea syrup. just pour in whatever pitcher and add cold water till it tastes good. mix of course.

  3. For cold tea: Get two packages of large tea bags (or 3 small) place in a coffee mug and water and place in a microwave for 2:30-3:00 min. Depends on your microwave keep an eye on it so that it does not spill over. Place cold water (not super cold) in your  pitcher, and sweeten to your taste before you add the tea.

  4. By using boiling hot water and then steaping your tea for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Boiling temp is 210 Fahrenheit. You really want your water to sit for a couple of minutes after it boils. Ideal temp would be 205 Fahrenheit. The tea needs the that heat to "cook" the essential oils in the leaves. That is how the flavor is developed and you are able to taste it. steep for no more then 3 to 5 min. It all really depends on the tea u r using. Research your tea's.
