I will marry an Indian woman but I am unsure how the visa process works. I have emailed the US consulates but I am finding the information not always helpful. Can anyone please give me advice on what to do? I know of the K-1 and K-3 visas which cover fiance relationships but that is about it.

    I do know this....

My fiance is Canadian and we are getting married Aug. 2009.

    Here is his response :

As soon as we're married I can apply for a green card which gives me permanent residency status. I'll get a temp green card for two years, after which I think we go for an interview/counseling or something to make sure our marriage isn't fake, then I'll get the real deal which is good for 10 years at a time. After I get a green card and wait 7 years, then I can apply for naturalization and become a citizen.

  2. i would think getting married in whatever country you want to live in is the best bet
