What is the best way to build up to a great 3 mile running time?

i can already run a mile pretty easily

i have socer and lacrosse tryouts and i know im going to have to run at least 3 miles

  1. Everyone is different, and different people can adjust at different paces. I increased every three days that I ran by a quarter mile. My Mom runs laps on the track however, and she ran one more lap per week. Just test your comfort zone and make sure you don't over-do it. It isn't strength, its training your lungs to endure more.


  2. ok i run alllll the time and what i do is i jog in place for five mins. and i run like 1 mile take a 1 min. and like drink water and breath =) then i take another mile and so on and if you look on the floor you will go more without getting tired because it will feel that you will be moving faster

  3. when you run try to go a little bit farther each time you run.

  4. A good way to improve your 5k time is to do a combination of longer runs, (above 3 miles) and shorter faster runs.  And of course not to start too fast because you might injure your self.
