there are a few carp in this pond i like to fish in, in CT. there are some blue gills, a bunch of bass, and too many snapping turtles. i normally go there to catch bass and cause no one ever goes to catch carp in this pond the few carp that are in there are massive. i would like to try to catch just one of them just to see what kinda fight they put up. ive gone online and looked up a bunch of home made baits but they are all so weird.

  1. get a semi-large hook. (treble would work) and get a slice of bread and tear out the inside. ball it up and stick it onto the end of your hook! that's the way i catch them! hope i helped you out! (best answer?)

  2. try using a dough made of 1 cup water boiling mix in vanilla extract and 1 cup of corn meal and flour stir while pouring in also use light line like 2 pound to 4 pound test lineand a number 4 or 2 hook that should catch em

  3. It would be nice to know what kind of carp they are,but at a guess I'm thinking it might be grass carp (White Amur).

For years my only target have been carp. However I never targeted the grass carp. You can catch carp on plain bread or canned sweet corn also for something simple. Not 100% the grass carp will go for it to be honmest, but the common carp will.Check the CAG  out at http://carpanglersgroup.com and you'll find more helpful things there.

You can also email me if you'd like and give me a discription of what the carp look like and I can tell you more myself.

You'll love the fight you get once you hook one so consider yourself warned.

    It's addicting
