The stones are part of my front garden and over the past year a small area of stones where the sun does not shine have turned green and mouldy looking. There is no plant life surrounding it at all.

  1. put them in a bucket of bleach for 10 mins, then scrub them. When you're done hose them off for a little while

  2. TSP.  Strong and it works.

  3. try soaking them in vinegar for 48 hours that should work

  4. you could try white vinegar, can't get it in sainsburys best place is asda nd its cheap :D, i think the best method would be to leave the stones in a small bowl of vinegar for bout five minutes to remove ne loose mildew then use a cloth with the vinegar to scrub of the remaining. If this doesn't work try lemon juice with a similar method, which of course can be adapted to suit u. Hope thts helpful :D

  5. Mix up 1/2 Tide and 1/2 bleach and spray. It will kill the mold.

  6. Use chlorine bleach in a spray, being careful not to contact plants. Lightly spray stones, then let stand for 20 minutes. Repeat if necessary. Do not rinse stones. All mold and mildew will be killed and the stones will come back white.

  7. I think your answer is a high pressure cold water hose.   codger

  8. do you ahve an automatic dish washer?.. just throw them in the top wrack.. believe me. they will be sparkling..

  9. Sprinkle this area with  garden lime.  It is good for your plants and kills the green moss.  You could use vinegar but you would have to remove the stones from your garden first as the vinegar would kill any plants that are nearby.

Lime is sold at most garden or agriculture centers and it's not expensive.

  10. Use a solution of Non biological washing powder & soak the stones with it, the moss & algae will turn black & die, then scrub with a brush. 1 cup of powder to a bucket of water should do the trick.
