What is the best way to clean a heavy feather bed topper?

it was given to me from my ex roommate and i want to clean and sanitize it it also a few food stains on it but i would like to keep.

  1. mnoble71 is right on.  If you want to use a stain remover, I'd suggest Mean Green from the dollar stores. Works on EVERYTHING!  NO bleach.  Just add it with the topper.


  2. big boy washer at the laundry mat also add a clean tennis shoe so it gets beat around a little in the dryer this will help keep it fluffed up for the stains shout really does work well.

  3. It can be washed in one of those really big washing machines at the laundromat.  Take 3 or 4 clean tennis balls and throw them in with the bed when you are drying it and that will help beat the feathers and fluff it to get it dry.  Make sure that you get the bed really dry or the feathers will start to mold and stink!  Don't dry on high, low to medium is best.  If you want to partially dry it in the dryer and then take it home and dry it the rest of the way in the sun, that would be okay.  Shake it periodically to move the feathers around during drying.
