Question:

What is the best way to clean a stainless steel laundry sink?

I have emptied some paint and turps into it as well as the washing machine water going into it regularly. It's quite grubby. Can anyone tell me the best way to get it back to a shining finish?

  1. I would first try gently scraping the paint off, and wiping it out, so you don't end up with paint in the drain. Then use vinegar or baking soda paste to take off the soap scum from the washing machine water. If you regularly wipe the sink out with vinegar and then wipe it dry, it will stay nice and shiny. If you let water dry on the stainless steel it will leave drip marks every time, especially if you have hard water or have a water softener that uses salt. Good luck!

  2. 1st clean it really good with paint thinner or nail polish remover and then use lime-away after that.  When you are finished it should look like new again.

  3. make up a mixture of baking soda and washing detergent to a paste and away you go
