What is the best way to clean the canvas part of a pop-up camper with mildew?

I have heard vinegar will kill it.....which would be better than using a chlorine based product that would bleach out the fabric.

I would try a little Borax on a sponge - it will clean without bleaching and it will give you the small amount of abrasion you need to get the job done.
