sweetie, you will need a good degreaser , I finally took a straight edge razor blade and gently scraped the remaining off. Best tip when you do get it cleaned, don't allow buildup. Annmarie

I have a glass cleaner, that I buy from the place where I bought my fire, but the cheapest & best way is this......

damp newspaper dip it in the ash, and it will come up like new.

Our glass gets really sooted and burnt with the intense heat I find that glass cleaner works well you have to spray it on and leave it and then clean it off with newspaper, and polish it up using the newspaper...it works really well on ours but unfortunately never stays clean long enough.....once the heat attacks it....

If it is nasty you can use Simple Green or very watered down dish soap. If you then follow-up with a wipe of 90% alcohol it will evaporate and you'll be okay.
