Question:

What is the best way to close up Fire place we dont use?

Is there a insert or what the heck we need to close this up before winter any help out there I would really appreciate it, thanks

  1. Hello,

    I guss you are asking haw to close the fire place that it will not look like its there.

    If I'm right then the best, cheapest and fastest way to do that is with plasterboard's.

    After closingg it you can easilyy paint it or covering it using bricks or what ever you wantt.

You can buy an inexpensive inflatable balloon that you pump up once balloon is inside chimney - it doesn't have to go too far up the flue.  You might also consider capping your chimney to prevent birds nests and costly removal. Just phone a chimney sweep - they should give you advice for free.  Better to get it swept before you close it up though to make sure it's clean and debris doesn't build up above balloon in case you want to open it up again.

  3. you can use 1/2" or 3/4" plywood,then paint it any color you like.
