There is this girl on my team who is very disrespectful and annoying. She is constantly putting my coach and the other teammates down. I think my coach is intimidated by her and she doesn't know what to do about it. Any advice?

  1. talk to the coach.

I'm having the same issue right now and I and a few others let the coach know and he said that he never noticed it was a problem and he talked to her about it and she lost her spot as team captain.

all i am saying is that the coach doesn't always know what is going behind the scenes and needs to know.

when you have a disrespectful, rude,or a player with a bad attitude it could really hurt the team and other girls might be intimidated causing them to not play at their full potential.

before we said anything she would get furiated when someone corrected her but she could correct anyone she wanted even the coach.

If you don't want to say anything yourself you and some other girls on the team could say something or, like we did, a bunch of girls wrote a note to the coach and delivered it to him when he wasn't looking.

    it was completely anonymous.

    it fixed the problem

  2. Since the group taking her behind the bleachers and beating her up would not be a good idea, I would start with the coach.  If the coach does not want to get involved, get the team together and talk with her.  Even if she as 6'8" left handed setter and an All American, she can be cut for the best interest of the team.

  3. you and your team members could try and confront her together and talk about it. In some cases of bulling the person doing the bulling does not know that they are doing it and also they may think there just joking around i hope it helps

  4. Grow up and get over it, its the coaches responsibility to deal with the problems on the team.  Every team will have someone people/you don't like.  If she's on the team and good enough to play and the coach decides to keep her on then deal with it.

If you have to say something because your that kind of person, be a women and confront her yourself one on one.  The rest of the team doesn't need to know about it.

Anything else is just you starting extra problems within the team that will just balloon into team unity problems.

  5. Not a player I would want on my team - no matter how good she is!

What I would do?  Take some time with the coach first.  Ask the coach if you can chat with them privately after practice, and then be honest and open.  Tell the coach what you are noticing about this girl - and the disrespect that she shows everyone, including the coach.  And then address how it makes YOU as a player feel.  Don't approach the appearance of intimidation on the part of the coach initially - that is for a later meeting if this one doesn't work.  Sometimes knowing that their inaction to a player is because they don't want to disrespect the player in front of the entire team.  And by players keeping silent, they are allowing the inaction to continue.  Tell the coach how you feel, how you are seeing the effects on the others on the team.  Don't speak for anyone, and don't do the "so and so said. . ." thing.  Speaking for others only makes your points less important, and makes your "complaints" more like petty infighting.  Just address what you know, and what you've seen.  You could use an example of hearing the girl slam another ("And I heard her say about xxxx. . ."), but always come back to how it makes you feel, and how you have seen it affect your team's morale.

But don't remain silent!  Keeping quiet is going to only allow it to go on.  If the coach doesn't think it is a problem, then they will continue to treat it that way until someone speaks up.  Be a leader and step up.

    Good luck!!

  6. you should tell your coach how you feel and if she doesn't respond you could always get your a parent involved
