I am getting a 2006 Camry, but do not know its features so i was wondering if anyone knows what would be best for that or just in general. I have heard that the AUX input is the best but I don't know if it'll have that, I don't like FM transmitters, and I hear some cassette adapters are no good...what's the best way to go?

  1. Aux input is the best.  It is a direct connection to the stereo.  If your car doesn't come with it, you can always buy a better stereo (one with an aux in only costs about $60).

FM transmitters work ok, and usually people don't have problems with them.  This of course is a lot cheaper than buying a new stereo.

Tape players have gone the way of the 8-track as far as new cars are concerned.  A 2006 model will usually come standard with a CD player.

Your best bet is to check out all of the cars features before deciding what to do.

  2. if your car's stereo has a place for an aux cord, then place one end where your headphones go into your ipod and the other into your stereo...thats what ive used and its easier to take out for switching vehicles than an ipod doc...

  3. Why don't you like the FM transmitter? I got my g/f the transmitter and it worked fine.

  4. I purchased 3 different FM transmitters for my iPod, the last being the Kensington.  The first 2 were cheap garbage, very staticy and little choice of stations, but the Kensington was outstanding!  You could dial in any radio freq you want, so you can pick the best freq for your area.  Virtually no static or engine noise.  Also charges the iPod as an added bonus.  Hope this helps.

  5. I have always used the cassatte adapter and I've never had any trouble with it..
