Get married to a US citizen.  That will only take a year for you to get your green card.

Just clicked on your question, and a pop-up appeared for the 2008 Green Card lottery. Unfortunately, hit the red "x" , before realizing what it was , so couldn't copy it for you. Search "green card lottery" . It'll probably come up . Not a sure thing, but maybe you'll get lucky . Good luck .

You can only adjust status to permanent resident with an approved petition from an immediate family member or an employer.  You can't simply apply for a green card once you are in the US.  Here are all the immigrant visa categories:  you will have to decide for yourself which of those is most likely for you:
