I work with someone who feels that she possesses some sort of "ultimate truth". She thinks that she is required to keep being disruptive and keep babbling, even though we have told her that we heard her the first time, or that we are tired of listening to her.

She is clearly delusional, and has other profound psychological problems. HR refuses to intervene and do anything about it.

Other than start looking for another job, what are the best ways of coping with someone who is just unbearable to deal with?

  1. Unless she is your supervisor - ignore her - literally - when you stop giving attention to people like this they stop talking to you.

  2. Duct tape. Death threats.

  3. Some people just like the sound of their own voice etc.

I dont know what to suggest apart from if you have a problem with someone to ignore them is the best policy so they wont come to you with their wittering conversation. Its quite common not to agree with work colleagues, deal with it.Complain to management or whatever. Its no wonder colleagues are like that or hate you and others, when you go around with the attitude they are delusional or have pyschological problems for expressing opinions.take on here for example, what is it not for, people express their own opinions and if you dont like them, dont listen to them.
