What is the best way to cut off the excess part of guitar strings?

but if there metal use wire cutters or a craft knife

well, I haven't played for about 10 years, but it used to be that it was not good for the sound if you cut them off. You let them stick out. You sure don't want to cut them too close, because they might slip out and it is a wasted string.

metal: wire cutters

plastic: scissors will work.

cut it the closest u can the curl it wit a needle nose or sumthin or u can get insta cut away tuning pegs like me :D
