What is the best way to deal with gossipy co-workers that want me to quit because I am dating a co-worker?

I am dating a guy in my office and I feel like the manager is trying to get me to quit because of that. Her and another chick that work here are conspiring together to force me to quit. Nobody else here really gives a c**p about the situation because between these two caclking hens, everyone knows. I've been working here for almost 3 years now. I need advice. Should I just ignore them? I am not aware of any policies regarding dating co-workers. I work my butt off everyday and I do NOT mix personal with business. Can someone give me any advice? Should I consider quitting?

  1. just ignore the gossip and do your job, the gossip will soon stop when they see that they are getting no reaction from you

  2. never quit ignore them some people don,t have a life, so thay want yours. keep on smileing thay hate that,

  3. NO - I would not quit.  Just ignore them. I always figure when people spend that much time doing things like this, that they must have a very empty life. I actually feel sorry for them. Don't quit, don't give them what they want.  If you enjoy your job, just put a smile on your face, eventually when they know you're not going anywhere and that their behavior doesn't bother you...they'll stop.  Hang in there....

  4. You've already answered your own question: ignore them. Nothing pisses immature gossipers more than just utterly ignoring that they even exist. It's apparent that anyone that invests that much of their time to other peoples' love lives are devoid of such things in their own lives. So don't feel bad. Those are the type of women you see at age 79, that have never been married and are still hackling together about petty c**p such as Betty-Lou's cellulite.

So definitely pay no mind to their trivial little existences and that'll show them who's the bigger person. If you give them no feedback, they'll have nothing to feed off of, so by ignoring them you'll cut off their life support. This is the only time when pure ignorance is truly bliss. =)

  5. You need to contact your HR rep. and find out what the policy is. Then if it says no (which i doubt, its usualy a no to daring ur manager or the person you report to) dating then you can not unless you both keep it a secret. However if its okay to date a co-worker then do not even pay attention to what they say!....

That cant be right, there's has to be a policy. So if she is in charge of HR if this was against the policy she would have told you to and would say that is the reason you shold stop dating co-workers or you will be fired. If she has not said those then you are fine and do not care for what they say....
