  1. Theres a book called Dollar Store Decor by the Mark guy off Trading Spaces.

  4. I do "decorate on a dime" on a regular basis and I'll tell you people come to my home and say "wow, you have alot invested in this."  I don't I have only time and imagination invested:)  I look at http://www.bhg.com for ideas a lot of times and they have great ideas and I convert anything that may be costly into my own ideas.  I go to garage sales and find things I like and freshen them up with new paint or flowers etc.

I love soft light effects and so have little white lights (cheap from any craft store) beneath my dining room curtains at the top as well as within the wall swag I have behind my bed and it gives a wonderful effect.  I also have a little white wire birdcage I got for a song at the craft store and it too has white lights with greenery in it and a silk bird and that hangs from a hook in the entrance way to my dining room.

It's all in your imagination !  Bring out your creative side and really put thought into what your looking at and it can be done.

Go to flea markets and don't judge something is ugly until you let your imagination take a true look at it.  Anything can be converted to "you".  Good luck to you !

  5. you have to base your theme then go to thrift shop and find little things that goes with the room like accents and you know things that are on sale that type of thing you need to calculate what portion of the money your gonna spend on a particular thing...

for example 80 bucks for accents

    60 for paint

and also if you want try the diy stuff like makeing you own pillows or putting little plants in old cups to give it that vintage homey feel.

  6. Yard Sales, Flea Markets and Big Lots. You can also go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get paint cheap if you look in the Oops section. The paint is fine but the store mistinted it. You can get $22.00 paint for like $3.00 bucks.

  7. Thrift stores
