  1. 1. suspicion of "meta-narratives", meaning any scientific, religious, or philosophical system that believes it can explain everything in an all encompassing theory or story.

    2. suspicion of "human nature".  Post-moderns don't like it when you make general claims about universal humanity.

    3. suspicion of "progress".  Postmodern folks don't really believe that reason or democracy are making the world a better place.  Instead, after stuff like the holocaust, the postmodern believes that it is naive to talk like that.

  2. By keeping one's mouth tight shut.

  3. What was all that really about!

We keep going around in circles.

  4. Relativism.

  5. live through a holocaust, an atomic bombing, and try to find sanity in the world.
