Question:

What is the best way to draft?

I have a fantasy football draft next Saturday for a league at work. I'm a huge football fan with a lot of knowledge but this is my first time doing the fantasy thing. We have a total of 16 teams. Each team has 19 draft picks. I wanted to know what the best order of drafting would be. The teams break down like this:

3 QB

5 RB

5 WR

2 TE

2 K

2 Defenses/Special Teams

Can someone with experience help me out with this? Thanks.

  1. Get the best RB and WRs available, ... then, QB. After that, you can easily pick and choose for the other positions.

  2. Do some research on the top fantasy players this year so you have an idea of which players should be taken where. For drafting, in the early rounds you should just take the player you think will be best, regardless of position. Your league looks really deep, so you should be fine. Later on, you can fill up the rest of your starting slots and get some decent bench players. Good luck to you

  3. 1RB

    2RB

    3WR/QB

    4WR

    5TE/WR

    6QB/TE

    thats how i draft

  4. Print off the top 100 from every Fantasy position.  Study their rankings and average draft result of mock drafts done by real FF owners.  Not through drafts in yahoo leagues because some of those guys are tools that draft teams like the whole browns lineup because its their favorite team...ignorant.  You can use yahoo but only use the real mock drafts that are done, either that or sportsline.

Once analyzed and hopefully you know a little something about FF, just mark the players on your sheet off as they are drafted and you, draft accordingly.

  5. I got a question.......How are 16 teams going to play 3 QBs at a time?  32 teams = 32 starters. 16 teams X 3 QBs = 48 QBs.  Also, what about QBs on bye weeks?  Even less starting QBs on the field.  You need to bring this to the attention of your commissioner before you guys start your draft.  a 16 team league can only afford 1 starting QB and a bench QB for the bye weeks.

Thumbs up to those who agree.

  6. WOW.  You need a lot of player and you have 16 teams.  There is going to be no way to draft for sure.  Start by taking good slid player that are not risks.  The odds are you are only going to get 2-3 studs and if you pick AP and he gets hurt that is a big lose.  So try to avoid Ap, Westbrook and other who are prone to injury.

The most importanted thing to do is look for late round sleepers.  You are going to need some Rb when the the obvious choices are gone.  Also look for people like Mendenhall who are great backup but will get some of the carries while the starter is still playing.

    Good Luck!!
