  1. I take contrast showers after weight lifting or other strenuous activity. I start off with one minute as cold as possible, and then one minute as hot as possible, and I do this for ten minutes or so (ending with cold). This supposedly reduces the amount of lactic acid in the muscles and results in faster recovery times and reduced soreness. It works for me. As you exercise more, your muscles should adapt so that you will not be as sore, but it's still not a bad idea to try to have them recover as quickly as possible since this will help your performance (and it will also promote muscle quickness and strength).

  2. sleep...

  3. Bananas have magnesium potassium , and dopamine and is known for easing muscle pain.

If you don't have a heating pad

fill a gym sock up with dry cooking rice

    tie off the end

microwave on high for 60-90 sec.

check to make sure it's not too hot

    apply it.

You can use it for months as long as the rice stays dry
