I am moving to Rome soon, within the next few months, and I hoping to find some good, local info on the best way to pursue apartment searching in La Citta Eterna. I will have a place to stay temporarily, but I am hoping to find an apartment somewhat near the center. I do not wish to live in any of the peripheral neighborhoods, as I will be attending a school near one of the metro stops, and I am familiar enough with the public transportation in Rome that I do not want to rely on it during the later hours. I have visited and stayed in the city quite a few times, but finding a long term rental while I am in still in California is not easy. There are many websites for vacation rentals online, and Craigslist is not the way that I wish to search for a place. I have seen the rental agencies with the window ads, but I am wondering how reliable those are. I am hoping to receive very local information. What can I expect to pay for an average one bedroom? How competitive is it? Thank you......
