My boyfriend really wants to find his real dad and i want to help him. His mom was only able to tell him his name and when and where they were in the air force together. I just didnt think that the air force would have any interest in helping us gain more information so taht would be a lost cause? please help, it would be great to make some progress near christmas

  1. he needs to get his non id. I completed my entire search by myself with that alone! have him send for it. If you can email me the state you're in, i can definately get you started!

or you can go to my site, click on "searchers" and find the state laws for yourself. http://www.adopteerights.net

non id, consent to contact into his file, registries, and then searching on his own via the interenet which will probably be his best bet!

  2. I would still try the air force if you haven't already, if you have his name and the years he served they may be able to give you some info.  Also if you know his name, you can do what I did, I got on the computer and looked in a general U.S. phone directory and was able to find everyone in every state with their names and just started making very awkward phone calls and found both of my birth parents.  teldir.com is the one I used

  3. use zabasearch.com, intellius.com (gives location free then go elsewhere), classmates.com, and volunteer search network vsn.org  You can also post free at the big genealogy sites under his surname.

    Good luck!

  4. You may even want to try some of the veteran sites for retired military and veterans.  Someone may know someone who knows the father or how to reach him.

    Just another "abstract" thought.
