What is the best way to find acting auditions around my area?

I have been told to find a agent, but i was wondering how much he would charge and if it would even be worth it.

I am 14 yrs old and not bad at acting.

Check the theatre mags in your area. If you don't know wher they are, drive around the theater district and check the newspaper stands. You know the ones with free news mags like The Reader. They usually have local theatre mags in them too. And every year most large cities put on a production of the Nutcracker. Find out when and sign up to audition.
