What is the best way to find technical or consulting employment in Houston, TX?

For example, I am a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Would it be possible for me to work in Healthcare systems with my expertise instead of general industries such as Oil & Gas, Energy, or Manufacturing.

houston is the capital of oil so why don't you try oil industry? as for finding employment, try networking, ads in newspapers or online job sites - http://www.oil-offshore-marine.com or http://www.rigzone.com or http://www.engineeringjobs.com

but if you are focused on healthcare, i'd say move out of tx and go to ny or ca

Six Sigma can be applied to heathcare, insurance, banking, or any industry where quality control has become a predominant issue.

I don't know that I would put that on the top of my resume, I might fit it in the bottom.  Fortune magazine said "of 58 large companies that have announced Six Sigma programs, 91 percent have trailed the S&P 500 since."

It was designed for manufacturing, but a true innovator can always find ways to implement good management techniques to other industries.
