What is the best way to find volunteer opportunities for teens in my area?

I'm interested in volunteering for organizations that aid animals or the elderly or just about anything! It doesn't have to be Christian-based but that would be nice. How do I go about finding these opportunities?

Go to unitedway.org and type in your zip code. A ton of volunteer opportunites will come up and you will be able to view the requirements such as age for each task.

You can check with local churches, I'm sure they will be happy to help you out!  Also, many local SPCA shelters accept volunteers as do retirement communities.  You can call and speak to whoever is in charge.

Local libraries are always looking for volunteers.  

The rescue missions, the women's refuge?,

neighbors who are elderly-you could do shopping or

cleaning.  Sometimes they will pay but you can donate it to

your church or fav charity if you don't want to keep it.
