  1. I fly their by plane. Found it extemely tiring on my arms so decided to go in a plane.

Least stops is actually better I find - cuts out all the waiting round in airports when you totally knackered. Enjoy its a truly amazing country. I love it.

  2. Check out expidia.com. I just flew to New Zealand via Air New Zealand and it was excellent service. No stops directly from LA to Auckland.

  3. I flew there via LA and Fiji with Virgin and Air New Zealand and back via HK with Air NZ and Virgin... I'd definitely recommend at least one stopover in each direction, as it really breaks the journey up and gives you the chance to see some more places.

  4. Air New Zealand business class is very good but i would NEVER advise going through LA!!

  5. I flew to New Zealand in 2004 via Hong Kong on Cathy Pacific. I thought they were pretty good.. only had an hour to get on to the connecting flight from Hong KOng to New Zealand leg!!

It is a long way. I would advise, if you can, to stop on the way there and the way back to break up the flight a bit.

Like someone else has said, don't go via LA. ONe of my friends did this and spent about 2hours in immigration and it was a complete hassle!

    Check out austravel for flights.

  6. I flew with Emirates, Glasgow, Dubai, Sydney then Christchurch - they give you a free night in the Millennium Hotel in Dubai if you have a long connecting flight.

  7. Check the seat pitch....look for an airline that gives you at least 34".

Don't fly via LA, because you'll just get grief from US immigration.

  8. Singapore airlines stop once via Singapore seat pitch 31 inches

Cathy Pacific 1 stop Hong Kong

Air New Zealand will soon be one stop via hong kong 34 inches seat pitch

Malaysian 1 stop via kula Lumpur 34 inches

Thai 1 stop vis Bangkok 34 inches

BA/ Qantas via Los Angeles 1 change of aircraft plus US immigration
