  1. Get some good looking business cards from VistaPrint, and visit the local banks. Ask for whoever handles home financing, and make your pitch. Dress nicely, and make sure you spell everything right on the card.

  2. Most of them will remain uncut, there is no one to pay you to cut them.  Since the water is typically turned off anyway, there is no grass growing.

If the city requires them to be cut they MAY be hiring, although they usually just use the people on payroll already.   You would have to be hired full time.

If the property is in a HOA the HOA may pay for an independent contractor to maintain the fronts.    Contact them.     Be prepared though, many have long standing contracts with maintenance personel already.

  3. you will need to contact the listing agent for the property (the person on the sign).  they will be able to contact the bank involved and see if they are willing to make a deal

  4. contact property managers and mortgages companies.

You will want to get in contact with the reo department.

Currently work for a mortgage company

  5. Talk to your local city government, with foreclosure on the rise the city can't keep up so they are contracting out

  6. contact the banks/realtors that own the properties.

  7. Banks list most REO properties with realtors.  Approach realtors who handle REOs.
