  1. From what I have read Journalism seems to be the quickest route good luck.

  2. get work experience. it doesn't matter how much theory you get on the course- employers want hands- on experience. if you don't get the experience then you'll probably be screwed. if the course that you are taking has a work placement module, take it and make the most of it.

however, it'll probably mean you'd have to organise it yourself and email/ring up the company.

my course had a work placement option, but i made the grave error of not taking it and i have regretted it ever since.

  3. Yes it is worth it.  You will make contacts and they probably have an apprenticeship with some tv programs.  In the summer plan to work at a TV station doing anything just to let them get to know you.  If you can volunteer at some smaller stations sometimes they let you on air and you can see how you feel in front of the cameras.  Volunteer for as many projects as you can fit into your sched at school.  Eagerness and chance taking are strong components for journalism.  Anderson Cooper volunteered at his own cost and flew to hot political areas in Europe to interview people and then sold his shots to the local stations.  That's how he became known .  He would stand in the worst hurricane with rain and wind pelting him and he became noticed and respected for not being afraid and getting out there to get a story.  Good luck.

  4. Yeah, it is.

I mean, you don't need a degree to break into media and all BUT its worth it because it increases your chances in breaking into the media.

BUT you also need personality and all. That's just as important.

  5. you'd have more success if you applied for Big Brother

reality tv is the quickest way to get a career in media these days

  6. Honestly, it really depends on whether or not you enjoy it.  I believe that goes for any field you decide to go into... the greatest concern is how much you enjoy doing what you are doing.  So if you're really into it, go for it!
