I have tried Dawn dish detergent and other degreasers, but nothing seems to work. Thank you!

  1. For the barbecue grease, try a clay-based kitty litter (make sure it's not the new non-clay stuff). Pour it on top of the grease stains and leave it there for a while. The longer the stains have been there, the longer you need to leave the kitty litter on.

You can also try a laundry detergent:buy a dry, powder laundry detergent and pour it over the spot. Rub it in with a stiff brush or broom. If you see that the powder is soaking up the oil, sweep it away and apply a new coat.

There are also specific chemicals you can find at hardware stores for this type of job (see the jnkproducts link).

If this is still not working, there is a slightly more dangerous option: gas. Gasoline seeps in and allows the oil particles to float to the top. Pour a little gas on the stain, rub it in with a brush, and then pour kitty litter on top to absorb the gas.

For the wax: start by grabbing an extension cord, an iron, and a newspaper. Plug in the iron and set it to dry heat (no steam). Place the newspaper over the wax stain and apply heat from the iron in a continuous motion. The newspaper should absorb the melted wax.

There are also commercial products for wax removal (see the moellerstonecare link).

    Good luck with everything!

  2. for the citronella use a hairdryer to melt the wax and then wipe it, use gp66 cleaner for the bbq grease  it really works

  3. Kitty litter.or Oil Dry. (same thing).

Just put it on and leave it .

    It absorbs it.

    Dawn just makes a mess.
