What is the best way to get certified in teaching english as a second lanuange?

I am interested in getting certification in esl without having to get a second masters in this field. I am from Carmel, NY.

The best way depends on where you want to teach. If you're just after a cert and then shooting off to Korea to teach for a few years then do an online course.

If you're planning on a career then I suggest a university course. But then again, I'd suggest a university course or CELTA only after you've had a couple of years experience to build upon.

Most jobs require a degree plus a cert so there's certainly no need to get another masters.
