What is the best way to get dog hair off a couch?

I just got a used couch from someone for free and it has a bunch of dog hair on it. I was wondering what the best way would be get the couch clean from the dog hair.

3M makes this thing called the "fur fighter" Its basically a handle with velcro like material on one side. Just slide it across the couch, and the hair will be gone. Works soooo well.

It sounds strange, but rubber gloves really do work. I have only tried it with the thick ones you use for washing dishes. Put them on and run your hands over the couch. The rubber gloves should collect the hair, and then you can just wash them in the sink, or collect it and put it in the bin if there's a lot of hair :)

I tried Mom3, rubber glove she recommend.   I just removed dog hair from my couch that way. I just rubbed couch with rubber gloves and was able to move all dog hair into a pile and was able to pickup.

Okay the rubber gloves thing is.. yeah a little weird... but! the rubber squeegee will work. by rubber squeegee i mean the rubber things you clean your car windows with at the gas station. I have a rubber brush that you swipe across and it gets it off. but the squeegee has the same affect. Good luck!

Buy clear packing tape, and wind it around your hand sticky side out, and rub this over your sofa. You are going to have to do this several times, and probably vacuum a couple of times too, but the tape will work.

If the dog is still attached to them entice him off the couch with a biscuit.

buy a lint roller and having it standing by.

when we had a dog and cat, i would lint roll the furniture every couple of days and that seemed to keep the hair from collecting too out of control.

i don't know about the rubber glove thing, sounds interesting. and less wasteful than a lint roller.

i'd try it.
