What is the best way to get excused from jury selection once on the panel?

The specific case is a sexual abuse case (male abusing under age girls). I really do not want to serve on this jury. What is the best strategy that will make me unpalatable to the defense? I was an advocate for abused children but that was 20 years ago. Thoughts about what the defense is trying to avoid here?

  1. Show prejudice.

  2. don't try to get excused; those girls need you on the jury

  3. say you know the person being convicted

  4. If all the called jurors are thinking like you, who's going to be the help of the little girl?

  5. You sound like a decent and warm person, I think I'd want people like you on a jury if I went to trial ever. But I know Factually: you can get excused for a medical reason, with the help of a doctor of course.

    If you have a medical problem that can get you excused;

IE: bad back, can't sit for long periods of time., bladder or bowel problems, etc.. it works and if it fits any of your medical needs you can do that, also medications that effect judgments is a good one!

I have been excused 3 times in 2 states for bronchitis, I told them I'd cough the entire time, they said they didn't want me! which is a true statement not a lie, I also put that on my voter's card, since that is how they used 2 pick jurors, but I think they pick by license's now? Good luck either way.

Child molesters should be hung, if they are truly guilty.

My neighbor's son was convicted for 9 years for abusing a 13 year old boy when he was 22.

Sick people in the world, and no justification! God Bless.

  6. most times you have to fill out a questionaire for the lawyers to look at in picking jurrors.  there are plenty of questions you can answer that will want them to drop you like a hot potato.  if either one thinks you are just the least bit biased, they wont want you.

  7. I hope you do show up & help put this guy in jail for our children lets fight for our children

  8. as a past advocate for abused children, I'd think the Judge would have excused you for probable bias.

did you tell the court about your probable bias in this type of case?  I think you'd best do so.

  9. BEFORE you're on the panel, during the interviewing period, just say something contradictory and stupid!

"I love cops because they are our society's guardians, and I also am aware of the crimes committed by cops all the time so I think we need cops to watch over the cops and put them in jail."

Nobody will want you on a jury pool like that!

Now let me tell you what I said:

I am aware of the circus that the legal system is in the courtroom, and that there is no law against an attorney lying or misrepresenting the truth and judges who can make any unfair and prejudiced judgement to either convict or to represent a defendent.  I protest my lack of a right to not be a citizen free from coercion because I am even obligated to attend this jury selection process which causes me time and costs me money, which is of itself a very tyrannical process that penalizes me with a paltry and insignificant financial imbursement even if I do participate in the jury.  In addition, I have in the past been victimized by bogus legal decisions in a courtroom.  With my ire, it is not a good idea to put me on any jury because I detest this tyrannical and fraudulent legal system.

I don't think anybody would put you in the jury box with that statement.  I haven't so far!

UNTIL THEY MAKE IT A FELONY FOR A LAWYER TO LIE OR DELIBERATELY MAKE A MISREPRESENTATION IN A COURT OF LAW, AND MAKE IT A FELONY FOR A JUDGE TO MAKE A PREJUDICIAL RULING THAT IS ABSENT JUSTICE, I will refuse to serve on any jury!  That is my RIGHT!

  10. Claim you do freelance for Perverted Justice. Tell them you feel biased to the case.

  11. Stick it out dude.

If you really want to get out just have 3 seizures a day...they will let you go.
