What is the best way to get from Barcelona to Cassis? Is there a ferry that goes from Spain to Provence?

  1. It's less than six hours by car, so it doesn't seem to be worth the hassle to take the ferry - the nearest connection would be Barcelona-Genoa, and then it would still be a four hour drive to Cassis.


  2. The ferry does take forever, but if you get to Aix-en-Provence or Marseille there are buses that go to Spain that take much less time and are pretty cheap. There is no direct train that connects, so I when I went from Barcelona to Aix-en-Provence, I had to stop in Montpelier and Marseille before getting back. Not only was it a pain but it was expensive, so I'd say save time and money and take the bus.
