What is the best way to get from Cancun to Merida using public transport?

Question

Traveling from Cancun airport and we need to get to Merida!

(Eventually ending up at Progreso!)

Any help would be great.

Take the ADO airport bus from the Cancun Airport, buy a ticket for the bus in the airport. The bus leaves from the south end of the Airport

It is about a 20 minute ride to the Cancun Central bus station

The bus for Merida leaves from that same bus station approx every hour about a 4 hr journey to either CAME the down town bus station in Merida of the Fiesta Americana Hotel in the Hotel Zone. The Progreso Bus passes the  Fiesta Americana Hotel or you can take a Taxi to the Progreso bus station down town from CAME it is not far only a few blocks but too far to walk. The progreso bus is about a half hour journey. All fares are economical. Use the directo buses to avoid a long journey on the free roads. The Express bus use the toll highway between Cancun and Merida

Hi there,

At the Airport in Cancun you'll need to jump on the ADO Shuttle, which will take you to the Bus Terminal in Downtown Cancun, from there you will be able to catch one or the other of the following...

A normal ADO Coach, tickets can be bought when you arrive in the terminal, with the timings being shown above the ticket desks. It is about a 4 hour trip in a Car on the Cuota road, so will probably take about 6 hours if it goes on the free road.

Or.. for a little more comfort and a little more cost, you can take the ADO GL, which is a first class coach.

Try the following website to book tickets, although you'll probably need to show your credit card again at the ticket desk.

There is a Coach Terminal in Merida, right alongside the Fiesta Americana Hotel, which was a very pleasant place that I stayed in when I visited Merida last month.

Good Luck, and enjoy Merida, it's a beautiful City with many old Colonial buildings. Also worthwhile visiting Ek Balaam & Chichen Itza while your close by.

Hi,

Right at the Cancun Airport you can catch the bus to

the downtown bus terminal at the intersection of avenidas Tulum and Uxmal, in front of the Plaza Caribe Hotel. There are two bus lines that are First Class Coach service to Merida. If the bus is not running downtown or you want to get there a little faster take a taxi.

I don't have the bus schedule maybe you can find it on line.
