  1. Unless you have a ton of luggage, the train is the cheapest way and reasonably easy. From Ciampino airport, take the shuttle bus (Cotral) to the Ciampino train station. At the train station, you can buy tickets for Civitavecchia at a cost of 4.90 euro.  The trains run 3 to 7 times per hour from Ciampino to Roma Termini (15 minutes). You'll have to change trains at the Roma Termini. There are 2 to 3 trains per hour from the termini station to Civitavecchia. The travel time from Rome to Civitavecchia is roughly 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the specific train. There are a few intercity trains during the day that take about 45 minutes. You can get a cab from the station to the ship.

You can check specific train schedules at:   http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

For the portion of the trip between Ciampino Airport and Roma Termini station, you could also take the Terravision bus for 8 euro.

The most convenient, but also most expensive way is to hire a driver. Cabs or shuttle services could take you all the way from the airport to Civitavecchia, but the cost will be a lot more. This one advertises prices of 120 euro and up: http://www.rome-shuttle.com/Ciampino_Air... and this one is 200 euro and up: http://it.holidaytaxis.com/products.php?... There are several other companies. It's about a 90 minute drive.
