  1. Train and then you have to take the boat (unless you swim that far!) The trip on the boat is quite pretty, going through the meditterannean. By the way, your train trip can be much slower if you don't take one of the really fast trains. Expect much cheaper prices, though! This is how REAL Italians travel. ABSOLUTELY RESERVE A SEAT OR SOMEONE MAY TAKE YOURS AND YOU WILL HAVE TO TRAVEL THE TRIP SITTING ON YOUR LUGGAGE IN A CRAMPED, NARROW,  WALKWAY.... assuming there's room! They cost more, but it's really a MUST.

  2. By train.

  3. By using the Italian Eurostar, you will get to Naples from Rome in 1.5 hours. The cost is about 30 euros per person, I believe and is a high class train.

My personal advice, however, is to use the Regionale train which gets you to Naples in about 2.5 hours but costs you only 13 euros. Then when you get to the Naples train station, the bus station is right across and you can buy tickets in order to get to the harbor.

The areas next to the train station arent very good, so be careful. There's a lot of confusing traffic and many suspicious looking people!

Once you get to the harbour, you can take a hydrofoil for about 13 euros or a regular boat for 9 euros to Capri. This will take you from 40 minutes by hydrofoil or 1 hour and 10 minutes by Boat to Capri.

    GOod Luck

  4. From Rome to Naples by train is 2 hours then Naples to Capri by boat, It is reached in about 40 minutes by hydrofoil from the port of Ischia or Forio, docking at Marina Grande. There are also boats from Naples and from Sorrento that sail to the Marina Grande on Capri. (--,)
