What is the best way to get inexpensive air line tickets husband needs RT from providence to phoenix?

I have checked priceline and all those websites but does anyone have one that they can suggest? They seem so expensive right now they are supposed to be cheap because no one wants to visit it's so freakin hot. Thanks for your info guys thanks!

Airline tickets in general have gone sky high in price, due to fuel costs and all that other stuff.  Pretty much the only way to get really inexpensive tickets is to be willing to take last minute flights that airlines need to fill.
