My flight will arrive around 6.40AM so I don't want to bother anyone to pick me up at the airport? I checked the website and it seems like there are several airport bus to get into Taipei. Any advice?

  1. You could always take a shuttle bus. (not like the public transportation bus, kinda like a caravan). But prepare to pay way more than the airport bus if you are taking the shuttle bus.

Don't take taxis, cause it'll  cost you a whole lot.

Your best bet is to take the airport bus. They are way cheaper. And if you want, you could mingle with other travellers.

    Enjoy and have fun!

    :]

  2. where in Taipei are you going?

there are tons of buses going from the airport to Taipei

its' cheap too, like 140 NTD (like 3 or 4 bucks US)

the buses come every 15 or 20 minutes or so, and not every bus company has the same starting time

Most buses arrive Taipei city in like 40 or 50 minutes

again, where in the city are you going?

if you just want to get to somewhere in the city where you can ride a subway, take any bus to the Taipei Main Station (train station)

just follow the directions in the airport, it'll take you to the bus zone in the airport,

very clear and direct and convenient

  3. Where are you getting to in Taipei? You can specify where is your end destination and more specific details can be given to you. But if you do not have specific area to go to, then I suggest you to take Taiwan Bus Corp. (Kuokuang Line) 國光客運國光號 (臺灣桃園國際機場←→台北車站) and get down at Taipei Main Station as this is what I take mostly from the airport to the city of Taipei itself. It has the least stop in between (only 1 stop in between at Jiuquan St near Taipei Bridge) and it only cost you NT$125 (approx. US$4). From there, the MRT can get you to most places in Taipei proper and its pretty near to bus stops that can bring you to many place in Taipei city and many parts of Taipei County and the rest of the Taiwan as well. Really a good place to start your trip in Taiwan there and have a nice trip, by the way.

  4. how much stuff do you have?  that's the question.  if you have a bunch, take a taxi.  it'll be faster.  sure, it'll cost about 1200nt (US$40) but they'll send you directly to your destination.  no mrt transfers or walking around with 2 suitcases in tow.

if you don't have that much luggage, take the bus.

  5. Theres Taxi, Private Airport Service, Shuttle Bus, Airport Bus.

Taxis cost alot especially during peak times. But don't forget your paying NTD, which is alot cheaper.

Private Airport Service offer a flat rate depending on where you go.

Shuttle Bus are cheaper than Taxis.

Airport Bus offer the best solution, cheap, reliable and did I mention cheap?

  6. Take an airport bus. It costs NT$85-145 and takes about 60 minutes.

Check out the airport buses from Taoyuan International Airport (formerly called Chiang Kai- Shek International Airport) to Taipei:
