  1. First of all, the first person said hair dryer.  never use a hair dryer because it will seperate the fiberglass from the foam becuase of heat, all you need is a credit card or something like it, small towel, windex.  Takes you around 15 minutes if you want it looking niiiiieeeece!!!!   -Promer Surfboards, Costa Mesa California.

  2. Try a hair dryer and a razor blade scraper.

  3. soak it in gasoline and ignite it

  4. Scrape it well using a wax comb or an old credit card.   Place it in the sun to melt the remaining wax...then wipe it off with paint thinner or gasoline.....it works like a charm.

  5. Scrape all the wax you can off with a comb, which sounds like you have already done. Next go to you local surf shop and get a wax remover like Firewater. Get a rag and wipe the board down with the Firewater and the wax will come right off.

Do not leave the board out in the sun to melt the wax. The sun will damage the board.

  6. To remove all the old wax use your Dad's or older brothers credit card to scrape the deck of the board clean. Now, if you already have wax on your surfboard you need to remove the old wax. You can use a wax remover, which you can buy at just about any surf shop to soften the wax, or you could just set your board out in the sun for a while to get the wax nice and soft. When the wax is soft use a wax comb/scrapper to strip the wax.

A Flat Plastic Scraper of any kind will work.

    Poorboy Products:

    Launch” traction pad

Traction pads can be quite useful to new and old surfers alike because they offer waxless grip with added contours to give you that extra confidence when you need it most. The “Launch” pad from Poorboy offers a heel arch as well as a protruding kick-tail on this light-weight one-piece pad.

I have no problem letting my readers know that this pad is a blast. I rode the “launch” pad in three straight sessions and noticed a definite advantage over just wax. For me, it wasn’t the launch kick-tail but rather the arch that wedges under the ball of your foot that really bolsters confidence all along the wave riding process. From bottom turns to cutbacks, the grippy lump gives you that edge when you need it most. Beginners could really benefit from this advantage in the early process in standing and turning just as advanced surfers who are looking for that extra inch of grip when landing an air or recovering from a layback snap would could also enjoy its effects.

    Use a "Pickle"
