My son almost set fire to the house early this morning by trying to cook, and although I have all the windows and doors open the smell is still there. I don't know what else I can do to get rid off the smell. Can anyone help me please ?

Thank you for any answers

  1. best thing i know is Lysol buddy.

  2. Try Using OUST Spray, As it eliminates all germs and odours instead of covering them up.

  3. set a couple of small dishes or cups of vinegar around in each room. This will kill any smoke smell. Then light the scented candles.

Teach your son the correct way to cook breakfast!! He must learn, but don't berate him too much for trying.

Been there done that and the T-shirt is on the line drying for the 3rd generation of beginning cooks!!

  4. Dont blame Tank...And stop trying to fry him next door..You just know it wont work..

Just give the house a good spray round wih an air freshener , it will fade in a couple of hours..

Failing that tell "Geo" to hange her deoderant.....heehee

  5. Oher than what you have done there is nothing else to do..

    Keep him out .heehee..

Ahhh, Just had a thought..Take Geos shoes off her feet..That will mask any other smells..

I am now in so much trouble with Geo I reckon...Just joking of course...hahaha

  6. This is going to sound silly, but it has worked for me in the past, take a glass bowl and fill it with one part white * vinegar and one part water, soak disk towels in the mixture and then ring them out until it is almost dry. Now this is the part that sounds silly, go in each room and twirl them above your head for as long as you can, also put one over your vents or a circulating fan overnight if possible. Again, they should not be dripping wet when you do this.

When my great aunt told me to try this, I thought she was ready for the funny farm, but then I tried it and I have to tell you it really worked.

*One warning though, only use white vinegar. Apple Cider and the other just do not work as well, and if you don't ring your towels out good enough staining can be a problem.

  7. plenty of air freshener and scented candles may do the trick

  8. Meliaa... right on!

  9. On this website (http://www.vinegartips.com/) it says that you can boil a vinegar and water solution and that the 'vinegar steam' will help to deodorize the room.  I've not actually tried it yet, but as many times as my husband burns the mini bags of popcorn in the microwave (he just hits the popcorn button, lol), I'm sure I'll have a chance, soon!  Hope it works for you!

  10. Yes it helps to cook it again, but without burning it haha

  11. Light some candles, that always removes a strong smell.

  12. I go for Yankee Candles, most expensive but the best.

  13. If you have carpets sprinkle bicarbonate soda on them, leave for a bit and hoover.  Or as the guy above says scented candles.  Hope all is ok there now over the shock.      The burnt smell will just take a while hon, sorry am not much help.  Also if you have any oils like Lavender, mix with water and spray but not near the kids obviously and only a few drops of essential oils as quite strong. :))
