"Foilage pests and diseases tend to be not much of a problem, due to the toxic compounds in the plant (Robinson and Decker-Walters 1996). Control of ants is important, as they farm the larvae of some insects. Thrift, which can devastate a crop, can be controlled by 2-3 applications of Roger per season. I think you are trying to control pests on a growing plant and if that is the case there are several options. You can use ladybugs(for aphids and other small vermin), tuna cans full of beer (for snails), Marigolds (natural repellent of many "harmful" bugs - and tasty in a salad),Praying Mantis (eat pests).
