What is the best way to get rid of rodents in the walls of my house?

Now THAT is a serious infestation!  If you were to sell your house today mice in your walls would make your home uninhabitable and deemed a health hazard.

When I was in college I rented a house that ended up having so many mice in the walls we could hear them crawling up and down the walls from the inside.  

If the mice are in the walls they are most likely in the attic and foundation and are getting around through small holes throughout the house.  Locate these holes and place poisons there, or traps, or get some snakes...the mice will leave once they sense the presence of a predator on their turf.

But seriously, placing mousetraps in your attic would do the job. Just be sure to check them often. You wouldn't want to forget and a few weeks later have some disgusting odor to deal with.

I use moth balls in my wife's garden. Rodents can't stand the smell. It might work in your attic.
