  1. Airtrain is the best way, but there are two ways to go.  The other response was to go to Jamaica.  It may be a little quickler that way, but I think that it is better to go the Howard Beach way.  If you go that way you never have to leave the transit system. In Jamaica you would have to walk a block or two through the streets of what is not the safest area in the city.  Chances are nothing would happen, but it is at least more trouble if you are struggling along with luggage.

From Howard Beach, take the Manhattan bound A train to west fourth where you can pick up the F,R or V trains which will take you to 42d street and Sixth ave.  Walk up sixth to 45th street, walk in the same direction as the traffic on sixth ave.  At forty fifth, if your address is 2 digits, turn right,  three means left.

  2. That address is located bet. 5th & 6th Avs

    Best way to take:

Step 1: Take Airtrain JFK "This is Jamaica Train" to Jamaica Station. Put in $7 in Pay-Per-Ride and $5 to exit system.

Step 2: $2 leftover for entry to Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av station downstairs. Take Manhattan-bound (E) train to Lex Av/53rd St.

From there take downtown (6) train to Grand Central.

During the weekdays, you could use 45th St exit at Park Av East/West Walks via Grand Central North.

Then walk west along 45th St.

Or you may stay on (E) train to 42nd St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, use 44th St exit, and walk east along 45th St.

  3. Hi.  The suggestions you got from the poster above are accurate, it will get you there, but if it were me, I wouldn't want to drag suitcases and such up and down stairs in the subway, particularly during the summer if this trip is soon because the subways are hot and gross during the summer.

This page has several options you might prefer, in particular, private van shuttles straight into Midtown.

    Update:

What date in September?  It may not start to cool off until the last week.  That page contains lots of options and is worth viewing.  As I said, I personally wouldn't want to get off a plane with all my luggage and have to get to my hotel carrying all my luggage through the subway, but your tolerance for manual labor may be higher than mine.
