  1. use both feet.

  2. Hands at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, relax both your hands and arms and concentrate on the road ahead..............

  3. Extend the left hand at 12 O'clock on the wheel and rest the right hand on the shifter.

  4. i say the 3 & the 9 position.  this way your hands are even on the wheel.  good luck.

  5. and you passed your driving test. keep doing something different until you find what works

  6. If you are right handed the best way is to keep your right hand on the steering wheel.Unfortunately this is difficult in the USA and other countries where the steering wheel is on the left side of the car because of the mistaken decision to drive on the right.

  7. In the "old days" drivers ed instructors said to place your hands at 2 and 10 o'clock positions on the steering wheel for good control.  Wit the advent of airbags, it is better to place you hands at 4 and 8 o'clock on the wheel.  That way if the airbag deploys, you will lose less skin on your arms and have a better chance of staying in control. As for steering straight, that is just practice. You may be watching the road too close to the front of the car.  Keep your head straight up and focus on the road about 100 yards ahead of you.  Good luck and be safe!
