I have a CB 175 honda I need to transport 1,000 miles. What would be the best way to do this? Can I rent something to do this? I do not have a pickup truck, but I do have a hitch. Thanks

  1. HELLO

IF YOU USE THE HITCH I ASSUME YOU WILL HAVE TO HIRE A TRAILER?

    HAVE YOU TOWED BEFORE?

    RESTRICTED MPH ON MOTOR WAY

BEST GET A VAN THAT THE BIKE FITS INSIDE AND PUT ON CENTRE STAND MOVE AS CLOSE TO PASSENGER SIDE OFVAN AND SECURE TO SIDE OF VAN WITH STRAPS/ROPES

YOU CAN THEN DRIVE AT 70 MPH INSTEAD OF 60 MPH ON MOTORWAY!

    WORRY LESS AT PIT STOPS

NOT NEED COVER IN CASE OF RAIN

  2. under your ***!

  3. Strap it to your roof or rent a trailer or buy a Johnny Hauler or make a hitch that will slide into your receiver with C channel welded to it and haul the bike behind your vehicle.

  4. Rent the small flatbed trailer from Uhaul.

  5. I've seen sport and dirt bikes strapped across the back of big SUVs. No idea if it's a good idea or not, seems risky for a larger bike but a 175 might fit.

If not, you'll need a trailer with a front-wheel brace and some tie-downs. The idea is to compress the suspension and strap out to the edges of the trailer so that the bike stays upright.

Last option: drain the fluids and stick it in the back of a u-Haul or whatever else you're using. Make sure to pad it so that the pegs and levers don't bend or smash anything.

  7. Rent a trailer.

Or search the web for - trailer rental

  8. The cb125 is rather a light motocycle, so consider a hitch mount. Make sure the mount is rated at whatever the motorcycle weight is.

Wouldn't want to take a chance on damaging it, or the tow vehicle.

These things are a "u" or an "I" beam raill, which lowers, so you can roll the bike up it, tie it down and lift it up and lock it in place. If the hitch is a light duty hitch, it is probably too weak.  So look in craigslist for someone getting rid of a trailer.

  9. If you have a hitch, rent a trailer.
