What is the best way to help motion sickness?

Almost every time I ride in the back of the car, I get dizzy! I dare not try to read or look down at something or I could really get sick. I always have to keep looking straight ahead at the road to not get very dizzy.

When we are going to be going around a curvy road for a while, I take medicine but I don't want to have to take medicine prior to every time I want to ride in the back of our car, in the back seat.

Do you know of other things I can do to help my motion sickness other than having to take a pill every time? It would also be very nice to read or something while I'm in the car without getting sick :)

  1. G o buy some motion sickness tablets and take about 15 minutes before riding. Dramamine works the best for me.

  2. Maybe there is something wrong with your inner ear. Have it checked by a ENT Doctor. Sometimes ear problems are the cause of motion sickness and vertigo.

  3. ok so it may sound a little bit odd.. but put a newspaper or magazine under your shirt, like on top of your stomach. Direct contact. And that makes your motion sickness go away. And until you can control it, dont read a book or anything! it will make your nausea get worst. Also drinking a bit of tea with oregano does the job, it always works!

  4. Motion sickness is caused by a conflict between your inner ear sensing motion but your eyes not seeing motion. Things like reading books, where you're not looking at motion will cause you to get motion sickness. The best thing to do is simply look at the scenery around you as it goes by. This will eliminate the conflict and will keep you well.
