I have a friend who came from Mexico 2 years ago and she can speak Very good English so i would tell you what she told me. You can take classes for like 3 months they offer them everywhere whether you pay for them or ask for them at school. Make it a habit to speak English even when you know your not saying things very well ask others to correct you. Read English books,watch English movies,keep an English journal where you write your daily experiences and correct any misspelling by using a dictionary.-Best of wishes

What you can do is expand your vocabulary reading books. Look up words you are not familiar with in the dictionary when you come across them.  Do not be too shy to ask people when you do not understand a word or a phrase.  Watch English-speaking programs and turn on the subtitles in English.  That helps a lot as most people understand the written word easier than the spoken word because sometimes the accents of people are hard to understand.

Last but not least speak it as much as possible.  Even if your head gets tired of it.  It will get easier as each day passes.  Some days you will feel like you´ve made ample progress and others you will feel like you´ve regressed.  Don´t worry, keep your chin up and full steam ahead. A child takes years to master a language, that is, it takes years for them to speak as an adult does, so you will need a few more years to master English.
