What is the best way to lean barr chords?

i have been tring and practing them for like 2 weeks stright and still no good what will help me do them?

  1. There is an excellent Mel Bay book on playing Barre Chords... I suggest you buy one... because there are some great tips in it that you won't find for free on the internet


  2. Start putting your 1st finger across the nut as you play the OPEN chords and use your 2nd finger as your 1st and so on. ANY and ALL open chords are movable by doing this. same chord changes apply so just start transposing songs you already know to different keys.

    example;  do you play a song in "C"?

    C, F, G7 something like that.

    now move that nut finger to the 3rd fret, now you got Eb!!! Nobody but experianced guitarist can play in Eb!!!

    Eb, Ab, Bb7

    As you are just learning, play each and every note of the chord and make sure they are clear. Always remember that if it was easy, musicians everywhere would never make it because EVERYBODY would play. PRACTICE

  3. Practice some more.

    Take your time.

    Remember to arch your fingers and use your fingertips (when you can.)
